The BVW Test – Apply to be a Team Reviewer
The BVW Test is a feminist film review site and is part of The Beauty vs Women Project, a project designed to empower women and girls against sexist and sexually objectifying media.
BVW Test Team Reviewers will form a core group of reviewers on the website who are required to submit well-written and informed reviews on a regular basis for users of the site to read.
The Test has a clearly developed ‘grading system’ that will accompany your review giving a visual ‘at-a-glance’ indication to the film content. This enables the film to receive either a PASS or FAIL based on its levels of sexualised/fetishised violence against women, sexual objectification, sexualisation of young people, and/or sexism content.
It is hoped that Team Reviewers will be a global and diverse group of people. Team Reviewers are not excluded on any grounds of race, orientation, background, or even gender. It is, however, an essential requirement that all reviewers identify with feminism and are advocates for ending VAWG, objectification and sexist content in media, and it’s consequent normalising, desensitising, and exacerbation of VAWG. (see CSW57 UNWomen report below on media recommendations for this).
